Hundredth anniversary of the company Swiza
Within the framework of this anniversary, several activities took place.
At first, an itinerant exhibition of small clocks personalized by Jura artists was organized from May till September, through Switzerland.
Then, to the Museum of the Hôtel-Dieu of Porrentruy, an exhibition of small clocks of the 19th and 20th centuries, entitled The Art time, redrew the history of the company.
This anniversary ended by the auction of small clocks Swiza personalized by the Jura artists.
The Clock of Saint-Petersburg
The Clock of Saint-Petersburg
The Canton of Jura appointed the Watch-making Foundation, in 2003, to be expanding of a baptized project Epmosphère, within the framework of the 300th anniversary of the Russian city of Saint-Petersburg. This clock arrived at Porrentruy, in 2004.
2005
The Clock of Saint-Petersburg
The project had for mission the restoration(catering) of a clock with unstable sphere belonging to Kunstkamera of Saint-Petersburg but also to development of the Jura know-how.échanges d'expériences. Pour compléter ces compétences, il a été fait appel à un groupe d’experts en horlogerie. Des artisans locaux sont aussi intervenus dans la restauration.
The Foundation is loaded of the follow-up of the file and the welcome of Mr Guryev, restaurant owner of the Museum of the Hermitage in Saint-Petersburg whereas the school of watchmaker's shop and microtechnique of Porrentruy and the Edgar-Faure high school of Morteau took care of its restoration.
The opening to the public
The permanent place of the Watch-making Foundation was presented to the public during an open day, on Saturday, July 9th. The visitors discovered a database grouping people and Jura companies having worked in the watchmaker's shop for the XVIth century. They were also able to admire the exposed rooms.
Historian and trainee historian
The Foundation has to benefit from a historian and from a trainee historian during year 2005. Christelle Labeye, Belgian and Cristina Micu, Rumanian, continued their searches on the people and the companies having worked in the watchmaker's shop and established an important database. Some searches on the history of the watch-making marks lead.
2006
Clock with unstable sphere of Saint-Petersburg
Having been restored by the school of watch-making and microtechnique of Porrentruy and the Edgar-Faure high school of Morteau, the clock with unstable sphere was presented to the public from April 28th till May 18th, 2006, to the church of the Jesuits de Porrentruy. It was admired by near 3200 visitors. At the moment, it lies in Kunstkamera of Saint-Petersburg. During the exhibition, several Jura watch-making companies appeared at the public at the instigation of the economic Promotion of the Republic and the Canton of Jura. The Watch-making Foundation, as for it, presented its partners, undertaken atokalpa LIMITED COMPANY and the Factory of tools Dumont SA. It also took care of all the management of the exhibition. dans les locaux de la Fondation.
125th anniversary of Dumont limited company
This world-famous Jura company was contacted by the Watch-making Foundation to mark its 125th anniversary. On this occasion, the Foundation appointed the CEJARE and the Club 88 to redraw the history of this company on paper and through a movie. These documents were presented during an exhibition to the church of the Jesuites and are at the moment available in the premises of the Foundation.

Maison Delmas - Old workshop of watchmaker
The Foundation recreated in its premises an old workshop of watchmaker. Inaugurated on 11th May 2006, this place reflects the atmosphere of a workshop of watchmaker in the XIXth century with its furniture, its tools and the watches of this period.
Opening to the public
The Watch-making Foundation received some visitors during year 2006. Several groups announced for visits and were able to benefit from presentation of the Foundation by a member or by our historian.
Trainee historian
We were able to count on Giulia Pedrazzi's help, native of the Ticino, which, during her internship of three and a half months in Eurodyssée , assisted our historian, Christelle Labeye, in her researches.
Historic researches
Christelle Labeye led researches on the clock to unstable sphere of Saint-Petersburg and for the company Bergeon limited company, for the Locle, for which a complete inventory of archives was realized. She also pursued her researches on the watch-making history of Jura and on the watch-making and worked in the implementation of a database of rooms at arrangement of the Foundation.
2007
Portes-ouvertes
Le 28 avril, la Fondation a fait découvrir ses locaux et son ancien atelier d'horlogerie dans le cadre d’une journée portes-ouvertes.
Expertising day
On June 16th, it offered the possibility to everyone to make consider his, guard-time. This day was successful. Since then, regularly, expertising days are organized by the Foundation.
Circuit Horloger
A watch-making circuit in old town of Porrentruy was constituted in association with Jura Tourism and the Association of the Guides of Porrentruy. The circuit allows the visitors to get acquainted with the history of the perception and the time measure as well as with the watch-making bruntrutaine history, while discovering or by rediscovering the city.

Salon des métiers d’art
The first Salon des métiers d’art de l’horlogerie et de la bijouterie, organized by la Fondation Horlogère of Porrentruy, took place from 8 to 13 November 2007, in the old church of the Jesuites of Porrentruy. About 800 visitors had the opportunity to discover rare and underestimated jobs today. During this trade fair), craftsmen and watch-making schools presented to the public the jobs such as the émaillerie, the ornamentation with guilloche, the engraving, the crimping, the achevage of boxes, the jewelry and the trainings in watch-making, engraving, jewelry and restoration.
2008
EPHJ of Lausanne
The Watch-making Foundation was invited by Beaulieu Lausanne to participate in the EPHJ (Professional Environment Watchmaker's shop jewelry) from 3 till 6 June. The demonstration knew a great success. She welcomed 360 exhibitors and 10 200 visitors. Numerous visitors also discovered our activities and our collections. The Foundation associated with its stand the Museum of the Hôtel-Dieu of Porrentruy and a guillocheur of Cernier.
Expertising day
The expertising day was held on 14th June , 2008, in le Noirmont. Two professionals of the watch-making were present and gave indications as for period and in the rough value of the various presented parts. Indications on the state or the restoration of rooms were also at arrangemen.
Swatch Exhibition
An exhibition dedicated to Swatch was organized in September 2008. This retrospective exhibition redrew the main lines of the evolution of watches Swatch by means of a series of themes. The exhibition demonstrated that beyond the indicator of time, Swatch is a support in the imagination, the creativity and in the technological innovations.
2009
The expertisind day and the personalized Expertises
An expertising day was held on 14th March in Porrentruy and an other one on September 5th in Delémont. The public once more had the opportunity to make estimatimation of their different watches.
Further to the success of these days and further to the requests always more important, the Foundation evaluates from now on, on request, particular pieces. She also organizes the auction of the good.
The collaborators
To support the administrative and marketing domains, a collaborator was committed and an apprentice used of trade also joined la Fondation Horlogère.
La Route de l’horlogerie
The Fondation Horlogère undertook a cantonal large-scale project, « La Route de l’horlogerie ». Between three Jura districts, the amateur as the enthusiast can discover three facets different from the watch-making production of the canton. Every site will develop specifically an aspect of the work of the watch-making, in an original and interactive way. The project continues and will be officially announced during a press conference in March, 2010.
Salon des Métiers d'Art de l'Horlogerie et de la Bijouterie
The second trade fair)) organized by the Watch-making Foundation of Porrentruy took place from 13 to 15 November. This year, it was more of 1'000 visitors who crossed the door of the od) church of the Jesuites.
Various art professions were presented to the public by craftsmen and schools. It was a question of émaillerie, of ornamentation with guilloche, achevage of boxes, jeweley, watch-making and saddlery leather craft. A brochure allowed the visitors to follow this exhibition by discovering the know-how of every exhibitor.
A whirlwind Blancpain
Public and pupils were able to approach craftsmen and students and to evoke their various processes or, for some, to deepen(fathom) a training for which they intend themselves.
During this edition, a whirlwind Blancpain was exposed by Horia LIMITED COMPANY of Courtételle and the visitors discovered all the features of a high complication.
Pascal Daucourt trainer of EFEJ Training center in Jura gave a conefernce during the varnishing where politics and actors of sectors economic were once more able to appreciate this place of exchanges and reflection.
2010
Journée des Amis à la saboterie de Cornol (JU)
La tradition veut que la Fondation Horlogère convie chaque année les partenaires et amis de la Fondation à un moment convivial afin de les remercier de leur précieux soutien.
Le 11 juin dernier, la Journée des Amis s'est déroulée chez André Gaignat, sabotier à Cornol et seul sabotier artisan en Suisse. Après une démonstration artisanale d'un sabot en bois, M. Gaignat nous a présenté son Musée du Sabot. Un travail à la mesure de l'homme, un reflet d'humanité, de précision et le goût du travail accompli.
Cette présentation a été suivie d'un apéritif dans une ambiance amicale et chaleureuse.

Le Jura descend aux Grottes, Genève
Pré en bulle, association de type Centre de Loisirs, organise régulièrement des événements sur Genève. Cette année, cette association a eu comme projet de créer une rencontre interculturelle dans le quartier des Grottes dans un cadre festif et convivial en ouvrant une fenêtre sur une autre culture. Après l'organisation de divers villages du Monde, comme par exemple la Russie en 2003 ou le Sénégal en 2007, pré en bulle a renouvelé le projet en proposant une fête jurassienne dans le quartier des Grottes les 18 et 19 septembre.
La Fondation Horlogère a participé à cette action qui mettait en scène le canton du Jura. Elle a eu l'occasion de se faire connaître davantage en tenant un stand de représentation. Elle a également profité de présenter des partenaires tels que le sabotier de Cornol ou la maison du tourisme à St-Ursanne.
Journée Expertise
Le 25 septembre, la Fondation Horlogère a pris ses quartiers chez Louis Chevrolet Watch Co à Porrentruy pour organiser sa traditionnelle journée expertise. Chaque personne avait la possibilité de venir, sur inscription ou spontanément, faire estimer ses pièces horlogères par des experts agréés. Pour les intéressés, adjuger.ch, site de vente aux enchères, donnait également la possibilité de placer ses objets horlogers en vente.
La journée a été un réel succès et pour les suivantes, nous invitons chaque amateur à s'inscrire par avance afin d'être sûr de pouvoir compter sur la disponibilité des experts.
Les prochaines journées expertises ont été planifiées pour les 1 et 2 octobre 2011.
2011
Inauguration de la Fondation
La Fondation Horlogère a pris ses nouveaux quartiers rue Pierre-Péquignat 6 à Porrentruy. Un grand pas a été franchi avec ce déménagement qui a permi de donner de la visibilité aux diverses activités de la Fondation.
Fondée en 2001 sous l'impulsion de Tony Müller, la Fondation Horlogère ouvre ainsi une série de manifestations qui marqueront son dixième anniversaire. Toutes les manifestations organisées par la Fondation ont un but unique : la mise en valeur du patrimoine horloger jurassien. Les exemples sont nombreux avec le Circuit horloger en ville de Porrentruy, les Journées Expertises, ou bien encore la Route de l'Horlogerie, un vaste projet qui permettra au curieux de parcourir le Jura à la découverte des trésors du patrimoine horloger jurassien, tout en profitant des nombreuses offres touristiques de la région. La Fondation Horlogère réalise également des événements en collaboration avec d'autres acteurs culturels, comme l'exposition Homo Temporis sur la nature et le temps, ouverte au Centre Nature Les Cerlatez (Saignelégier) depuis le 29 avril 2011.
Le 20 mai 2011, le public a pu découvrir le nouveau bureau et l'espace d'accueil de la Fondation. Une multitude d'objets anciens, modernes et pour certains particuliers y sont mis en scène. Le public a pu aussi découvrir des films retraçant la vie des horlogers paysans par le biais de différents témoignages, ainsi que des vidéos retraçant l'histoire d'entreprises horlogères de la région jurassienne.
Exposition "Homo Temporis, une histoire naturelle"
Le Centre Nature des Cerlatez abrite jusqu'en octobre 2012 une exposition intitulée Homo Temporis, consacrée à l'homme, à la nature et au temps. Basée sur une présentation à la fois scientifique et pédagogique, "Homo Temporis" propose des horloges stylisées très ludiques, un sablier géant, des clepsydres (horloges à eau) ou encore des cadrans lunaires et/ou solaires à découvrir. D'autres objets insolites sont exposés : bougies graduées permettant de lire l'heure grâce à la fonte de la cire ; lampes à encens mesurant le temps ; montre de guet ; perceuses à main mais aussi plantes et animaux qui rythment leur vie sur le temps.L'exposition n'est pas tournée exclusivement sur la transmission du savoir, mais montre également l'importance de la haute technologie de la mesure du temps dans les compétitions sportives.
Journée des Amis
La Fondation Horlogère convie chaque année ses partenaires et amis à un moment convivial afin de les remercier de leur précieux soutien. Le 1er octobre dernier, la Journée des Amis s'est déroulée à la Fromagerie de Saignelégier, où une petite visite suivie d'un film et d'une dégustation les a faits pénétrer dans le monde fascinant de la Tête de Moine.
Journée Expertise
L'édition 2011 des Journées Expertises s'est tenu les 1er et 2 octobre à bord d'un train spécialement affrété pour l'occasion. Le train c'est déplacé entre les gares de Glovelier, Saignelégier et La Chaux-de-Fonds. Contrairement aux précédentes éditions, ce n'est pas le public qui est venu trouver les experts, mais bien les experts qui sont venus à la rencontre du public.
Lancement officiel de la Route de l'Horlogerie
Portée par la Fondation Horlogère, la Route de l'Horlogerie a été lancée officiellement le 1er octobre 2011 à Saignelégier. La Route de l'Horlogerie est un projet touristique innovant et de grande envergure qui associe visites d'entreprises, loisirs et activités culturelles. Originale sous plusieurs angles de vue, la Route de l'Horlogerie propose des offres variées aux visiteurs. Ces derniers peuvent personnaliser leur séjour via le site internet de la Route de l'Horlogerie. Louis Chevrolet, Victorinox, Maurice Lacroix, Louis Erard ou encore Willemin-Macodel sont quelques-unes des entreprises industrielles partenaires du projet.
Du côté touristique, on trouve les musées de la région et les organisations de loisirs, mais encore la Fromagerie de Saignelégier ou les Grottes de Réclère. En dehors des circuits traditionnels, certains lieux atypiques invitent à la découverte, par exemple le Jardin botanique à Porrentruy, le Musée du tour automatique à Moutier ou encore Autruches Aventures à Lajoux.
Troisième Salon des métiers d'Art de l'horlogerie et de la bijouterie
Le troisième Salon des métiers d'Art de l'horlogerie et de la bijouterie a eu lieu du 10 au 13 novembre dans l'Ancienne Eglise des Jésuites de Porrentruy. Une vingtaine d'exposants ont proposé leur savoir-faire qui combine la tradition du geste manuel et la modernité de la technicité. Le Salon présente des métiers devenus rares, souvent méconnus, mais toujours à la source d'une grande qualité technique et esthétique. Le Salon s'adresse à tous les publics et son accès est gratuit. Parmi les métiers d'art, on trouve ainsi des professions relatives à la décoration de la boîte de montre, du cadran et des mouvements eux-mêmes, ainsi que l'émaillage, le guillochage ou encore le sertissage. Le Salon fait aussi la place belle à six écoles spécialisées qui assurent les bases et les fondamentaux de l'horlogerie.
En parcourant les stands installés dans l'ancienne Eglise des Jésuites, les visiteurs ont pu aussi s'informer sur les outillages nécessaires à l'horlogerie et sur les spécificités de la vente dans le domaine horloger. Des démonstrations pratiques ont permis de mieux comprendre les finesses des métiers d'art de l'horlogerie et de la bijouterie.

2012
Cours montage de sa propre montre
Plusieurs cours sont au programme et ouverts au grand public pour comprendre et assembler les pièces d'un mouvement d'une montre. Le cours permet de se familiariser avec le monde horloger et offre un voyage initiatique dans les secrets d'une montre mécanique. Le cours est étalé sur 3 soirées et composé d'une partie historique, théorique et pratique. A la fin du module, le participant est capable de comprendre le fonctionnement d'une montre mécanique entièrement montée par lui-même. L'objectif est que chaque participant quitte le cours avec son garde-temps au poignet.
Ce cours est limité à 5 participants et se déroule dans les locaux de la Fondation Horlogère.
Atelier horloger
Le but de mettre en place un atelier d'horlogerie, était de rappeler l'ambiance qui régnait à cette époque dans ces ateliers. Une grande partie du travail horloger se faisait à domicile. Ainsi une grande partie des horlogers possédait son propre atelier.
La bourse aux prospectus
C'est une manifestation organisée en alternance par Jura tourisme, l’office du tourisme du Jura bernois et celui de Neuchâtel, sous l’égide de Watch Valley. La bourse aux prospectus s’adresse aux professionnels. Une centaine de prestataires de services sont présents. L’objectif est de promouvoir le tourisme sur le plan régional.
